Monica Lennon is the Principal of MLA and is a Chartered Town Planner with more than 10 years experience and knowledge of the planning system in Scotland. Monica has worked in both central and local government and has a detailed understanding of development planning and development management processes, latterly occupying a senior role with the Scottish Government before establishing MLA. She has also worked for some of the UK’s largest planning consultancies and developers, representing a diverse range of clients across multiple market sectors.

Monica is well-known and respected within the planning profession, particularly for her involvement with the Young Planners’ Network and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and is currently a serving member of the Scottish Executive Committee of the RTPI in Scotland. Monica is also a columnist with the Scottish and Universal Newspaper Group and her ‘Ask the Planner’ feature gives readers an opportunity to get plain, objective advice on their planning queries.
